I meant to say if you shop at House of Beauty make sure to pay using either Amazon Pay or PayPal (both have Buyer Protection) and will fight the battle on your behalf when the merchant refuses to do the right thing. I'm not ticking the 'Mark as Resolved' box on the upper right because House of Beauty did not resolve the issue - Amazon Pay did.

Amazon Pay processed the full refund back to method of payment despite HoB's refusal to assist. There are far too many reputable online beauty supply websites that offer stellar customer and product support to waste time / money / energy on House of Beauty.

Update: Opened a 'Significantly Not as Described' dispute claim against House of Beauty requesting full refund processed back to method of payment, PayPal via Purchase Protection Program. Word to the Wise - IF you shop with House of Beauty, make sure to pay with PayPal.

Purchased a hair care item (TakeDown Cream) from House of Beauty World that was missing at least 1/3 of the bottle's contents. The box and packing peanuts wreaked of the strong (and unusual) scented item as well.

Contacted HoBW customer support several times (3 phone calls and 4 emails - including images) requesting a printable return-shipping label as well as a replacement item be sent.

I resent having to apply so much time and energy to the task of a simple product replacement.

Well into a week later someone phoned claiming that that particular item's contents had 1/3 missing by design.

In my opinion, this was a returned / previously used item. I don't know of any product that is missing 1/3 of the bottle's contents by design.

Since the manufacturer of said item is virtually impossible to reach, I gave up the battle.

Unfortunately, this is a 'live and learn' situation - I learned to not shop at House of Beauty World because they will not replace a substandard / damaged / product missing / previously opened / used item.

PS

Used chopsticks (submerged into bottom of the bottle) to show the product height vs. bottle height.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $20.

Preferred solution: HoB offered NO SOLUTION. I requested a replacement and they did not replace. .

House Of Beauty World Cons: Customer support uses stall tactics, Hob will not replace defective or previously used items, Used hair care product sent, Questionable business practices, Unscupulous and dishonest.

Agree! They did the exact same to me but I didn't pay with AmaZon Pay and never received a refund.

Your comment was way back in 2021 - goes to show how often I check on PissedConsumer! I guess I only show up when I'm really pissed!

Sorry to hear about your experience with HofBW - they really are terrible. I'm surprised that they are still in business.
